Angry Birds gets an update – 45 new levels in a new world

Everyone who has been playing Angry Birds will be pleased with this announcement. Rovio has released the first update for Angry Birds for Android and it is a pretty nice sized update. First, the game now supports QVGA screens so anyone who owns an Android device with a QVGA screen will have proper screen support with the graphics in-game.

Secondly, The Big Setup was added. This is a new theme (world) with 45 more levels bringing the total now to 195. No word on whether or not there are new golden eggs but I’m going to take a stab in the dark and say yes. If you find any new ones don’t forget to let us know over at the Golden Eggs walkthrough.

Also included in the update is more support for various Android device and some bug fixes including the blank screen issue for people still using Android 1.6 as well as white textures on other Android devices showing up. Overall a pretty nice update so hurry up and go get it! Currently though for whatever reason the update is showing as a new install instead of an update in the market so if you aren’t seeing the update, that is why but you can just install the new version.

Update Nov. 9, 2010 10:20am: More changes found in the update include a new bird which we will name Big Fat Head Bird. It’s special ability is it just plows through a lot more. Ads moved to the top of the screen and your score is located right below it. Also new Golden Egg found on 9-14.
