Samsung teams up with DeNA – Mobage coming to Samsung Android devices

DeNA is a huge social gaming network which recently purchased ngmoco and has 20.5 million registered users in Japan alone has now teamed up with Samsung to bring Mobage to Samsung Android devices. This won’t be strictly in Japan though because with this partnership, DeNA plans to bring this social gaming network to the global audience.

Recently DeNA issues out a private beta of their Open Mobage Smartphone SDK to 50 partners which includes some very big names such as Hudson, Square Enix, Take-Two Interactive, Nexon, SGN, Gamevil, RockYou, PlayFirst, Mochi Media, Gameview Studios, Flipside 5, Nimblebit, Lumos Labs, Playforge, Ricochet Labs, and Bolt Creative.

The SDK will also allow developer to monetize their games however they like and fully supports the Freemium business model as well as complete access to Mobage-town and Plus+ social gaming audiences. This will also allow developers the ability to deploy their games across multiple platforms (web, Android, iOS) with little effort.

Samsung will be working with DeNA to bring Mobage to their Android devices over the next several months. This means that future Samsung device you plan to buy may very well come complete with a global social gaming network per-installed! Mobage comes with a catalog of games already, ngmoco will be bringing theirs to the table and all the partners that have been beta testing the SDK will now have the ability to bring their games to the Android Market, if they choose to, with a massive social audience the moment the game is ready for release.
