NEC confirms dual-screen Android Tablet, to be shown at CES 2011

NEC has released a press release confirming the rumored dual-screen Android tablet we reported on last week. Great news as no pictures have been released yet so we can still use the mock-up from last week which looks like a weird Nintendo DS. This will be a Cloud Communicator tablet for access from home and NEC’s apparent App Market.

Called the Andronavi, this will be NEC’s Android application marketplace for the dual-screen tablet which will be accessible via ‘The Cloud’. You’ll also be able to access any of your connected home electronics via ‘The Cloud’ as well with this tablet. The one feature that stands out instantly are the screen sizes: two 7″ touch screens.

Dual-screen Specs:

  • Android powered tablet with two 7″ touch screens
  • WiFi/3G/Bluetooth enabled
  • Multitasking with the ability to run different applications on each screen
  • Styuls pen for easy input (really?)

It’ll also come in a single screen version with similar specs, just lacking the second screen. Both will apparently be debuted at CES 2011 along with a notebook and the Andronavi Android application market. Check out the full press release below and enjoy the mock-up from our article last week. We will check it out when we are at CES 2011. Some interesting gaming possibilities can come of this.
