More GDC 2011 rumors and announcements. Real Racing 2 and Xperia Play pricing.

GDC 2011 is only a few days away and as it gets closer, the rumors are starting to fly. One such rumor is that iOS developer Firemint is planning to unveil their Real Racing 2 game ported over to Android. Real Racing 2 has won multiple awards since its release onto the App Store and Firemint is now looking to unleash it onto Android as well.

Real Racing 2 will hopefully be coming with all the goodies found in the iPhone 4 version which includes features like vehicle damage modelling, social gaming network support, and 16-player online racing! This will be Firemint’s second game released onto the Android Market if this rumor is true, their first being Flight Control which was licensed/published by Namco Networks.

We do have a meeting set up with Firemint at GDC 2011 so we will find out first hand if Real Racing 2 is actually on the way!

Also at GDC 2011, Sony Ericsson is suppose to be announcing, officially, pricing for the Xperia Play. Currently, pricing seems to be a little all over the place ranging from $599 all the way up to $884 for the unlocked version of the Xperia Play. When Sony Ericsson announces the pricing, we will make sure to report on it along with any vigorous fondling of display units that we do.
