Zen Studios announces release time for Zen Pinball THD for Tegra devices

Zen Studios makes some incredible looking pinball games with unique themes and a ton of eye candy and animation. In fact you may have seen our rather in-depth preview of Zen Pinball THD about two weeks ago for Tegra 2 and Tegra 3 device. Well the good news is that the wait is almost over.

Zen Studios announced over their Twitter account moments ago that Zen Pinball THD would be released this week for Android Tegra 2 devices. There will also be a Tegra 3 optimized version down the road as well considering every prototype unit of a quad-core Tegra 3 tablet we’ve seen at events like GDC have had Zen Pinball’s Sorcerer’s Lair table running on it.

Zen Pinball THD Features:

  • Tegra™2 Powered – The first console quality pinball title for mobile devices and tablets, made possible through the graphic prowess of the Nvidia® Tegra™2 and Kal-El chipset
  • Achievements – powered by Open Feint
  • Leader Boards – Global leader boards and local high scores
  • Rule Sheet – Each table comes equipped with a rule sheet providing tips and tricks to help you boost your score
  • Hot Seat Multiplayer – Pass the game around to friends as you compete with each other for the top pinball wizard
  • Pinball Platform – Zen Pinball THD is a free pinball platform that will house many different pinball tables including the stunning Marvel Pinball series. New content will seamlessly integrate into the platform, making it easy for users to access new content.

Zen Pinball THD will be release as a free pinball platform download. Essentially it will be a pinball arcade and it will come with a free table as well which will be the Sorcerer’s Lair table. Other tables including The Amazing Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four and others will be available via in-game purchases and will vary in price depending on the complexity of the table and other factors. For Pinball fans, this is pretty much the best of the best when it comes to just pure pinball enjoyment on your mobile device.

So for everyone who is waiting for this to land on Android, the wait is almost over. When it is released this week, we will be sure to post and let everyone know. You can also check out the Sorcerer’s Lair table preview in the video below.
