Google’s Nexus Tablet to be unveiled at Google I/O, already shipping and should be available in July

Well it looks like the Google Nexus Tablet is going to be hitting store shelves a bit sooner than anyone expected it to according to a new report from Digitimes. In this report, the 7″ Nexus Tablet for Asus has already begun shipping out, at least to San Francisco where it is now going to be officially unveiled during Google I/O 2012.

While everyone pretty much expected that the Nexus Tablet would be shown off at Google I/O, according to the report it will also be available for consumers in the beginning of July. When it does go up for sale, it will still be the rumored $199 price tag. On the flip side of things, literally, the Nexus Tablet will apparently not have a rear-facing camera. Of course that is a small price to pay in order to have a tablet like this one be available at the $199 price point.

It will still come with a front-facing camera and the Nexus Tablet will indeed be a WiFi-only tablet, at least for now. As for which version of Android the tablet will come out of the box with, that seems to still be up in the air with some rumors pointing at Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) while others are still pegging it to come with Android 5.0 (Jelly Bean). Either way it won’t be long until we find out all the details as Google I/O 2012 is just around the corner.

Of course don’t be surprised if it shows up on the Google Play store for sale as well. Like all rumors, take this with a grain of salt.
