Gameloft’s upcoming Heroes of Order & Chaos will be DOTA for mobile devices

Gameloft has been randomly teasing images for their upcoming spin-off of their MMORPG Order & Chaos. Officially titled Heroes of Order & Chaos, this will be a MOBA game for mobile which, for the most part, really hasn’t been done yet. We do have some close ones though like Legendary Heroes.

For those of you not familiar with MOBA games (a.k.a Massive Online Battle Arena), you have at least probably heard of DOTA 2, League of Legends or Heroes of Newerth. Right now these types of games are extremely popular for PC gamers and there is usually at least one of the above mentioned titles in any major e-sports tournament. Now it looks like Gameloft wants to get in on the action but through mobile devices, something which we knew would happen eventually.

Essentially, MOBA games have to pushing your weight, and your team as well, against another team of players. It’s all head-to-head combat, with minions usually, and towers, with the goal being to eventually destroy the main target in the opposing team’s base. That is the quick and dirty explanation of it anyways.

Heroes of Order & Chaos won’t stray to far from the standard PC MOBA games in terms of layout and gameplay. You will have your standard 3-lane maps, random NPC creatures to farm, various classes for characters, leveling up and upgrades for them and so on.

As of right now, this is slated for ‘mobile’ devices. This could mean it may end up being iOS only but considering the massive popularity of this genre right now, isolating it to one platform would be downright idiotic. Top that off with Gameloft consistently growing ties with MLG and making it iOS-only is likely not going to happen.
