Akaneiro: Demon Hunters multiplayer Action-RPG beta signups now live

Back in April of this year we talked about a new Action-RPG game heading our way from Spicy Horse Games called Akaneiro: Demon Hunters. Since then the game has been under heavy development with details about the game being kept on the down low. Now, not only are beta signups now live for Akaneiro: Demon Hunters but we also have the first gameplay video showing off this rather excellent looking game.

In this game you will be playing as a member of an elite society of demon hunters called The Order of Akane. You mission will be to set out and cleanse a village of Yokai in a world set in the Edo period of Japan, inspired by ancient demons, with hand-painted visuals.

As you go about killing the Yokai, you can take the blood and transform it into crystal shards called Karma Shards. With these shards, you will be able to upgrade your weapons, which there will be many upgrade possibilities, to help take on more powerful demons. Of course you will also have to deal with the rather large bosses as well. There will also be multiplayer in the form of Asynchronous Social game mechanical as well as simulated Co-op/PvP elements. Synchronous multiplayer will be introduced post-launch.

Akaneiro: Demon Hunters will be released onto Android for tablets only, at least that is the plan for right now. Could it make it’s way to phones? Possibly but that could be further down the line. Either way, this game visually looks very nice as does the gameplay which you can check out in the video above. The beta signups are now live for those of you interested in getting into the game early before it is officially released. When Akaneiro: Demon Hunters is launched, it will be as a free-to-play game but Spicy Horse Games promises that it won’t be of the naggy, spammy, unbalancing kind.
