Most of Gameloft games now compatible with the Acer Iconia Tab A510

I’ve been using the Acer Iconia Tab A510 as my primary Android device ever since I sold my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 back in May, and there was no bigger frustration than coming to know that my device was basically unsupported by Gameloft. Up until a few hours ago, only a handful (and by a handful I mean six) games were supported. I can’t recall all six, but Let’s Golf HD, Men in Black and the two latest games in the Asphalt series were among four of the supported games.

None of their action games were available, but things have changed. I was greeted by a nice little surprise when I picked up my device a short while ago to see Wild Blood on the Top New Paid list. Previously, it’d never show up. Instantly, I clicked on it and went to Gameloft’s developer page that showcases all their available games. And there it was – N.O.V.A. 3, Modern Combat 3 and The Dark Knight Rises among others.

Through a series of hoops (like changing the build.prop or sideloading) I have played some of the above games on my device, but it is nice to know that Gameloft have officially begun to support the A510 for their latest titles. I never could fathom why the A510 was left in the cold previously, mainly because the Asus Transformer Prime which has got very similar hardware was supported.

Anyway, for all those A510 toting people out there, you’d be glad to know you now have direct access to Gameloft’s latest games. Now the next step for Gameloft would be to further optimize their games on Tegra 3 devices because it is a well-known fact that their games have poor performance on Tegra 3 devices.

P.S. We’re not able to confirm if it is only the Acer A510 to get more compatible games from Gameloft. If your device suddenly shows more compatible Gameloft games, let us know through the comments section below.
