Need for Speed: Most Wanted is here, now teach those cops a lesson

The game many a racing fanatic has been waiting for has finally arrived on Android devices, on time might I add. Need for Speed Most Wanted brings along with it some pure street racing action with over 35 of the world’s fastest cars – including the Bugati Veyron, McLaren MP4-12C and Lamborghini Aventador – at your disposal to help you reach the top of the Most Wanted list.

Many of us may have played Need for Speed: Most Wanted some years back on the PC, PS2 or Xbox. The current mobile game is not a remake of that actually; it is simply a standalone title that is catered specifically to mobile devices.

The core gameplay is pretty much the same. Complete objectives in five different game modes on your way to the top. Then of course there are the cops who are bent to spoil your party, trying to hit you at every opportunity and throwing up spikes when you least expect. Additionally, you get to compete against your friends’ best times by logging in EA’s Origin platform (no online/local multiplayer though).

Need for Speed: Most Wanted features:

• Drive and customize over 35 of the world’s most exciting cars
• Race the way you want! By popular demand, you can now touch or tilt to steer
• Use Mods to enhance your car and get ahead of the pack in style
• Experience the action with mind-blowing graphics and intense full-car damage
• Earn Speed Points to unlock new cars

The game’s visuals are top-of-the-line stuff, with the highlight being real-time reflections off the cars bodywork and the road. There is also full-car damage modeling present. You’ll get to choose between tilt or touch controls, so there’s something for everyone in that respect. Should you have difficulty beating your rivals, you can turn to mods to enhance your cars performance too.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted is surely a promising title, and its arrival on Android is most welcome. The game will set you back $6.99. For those wondering, the game does have in-app purchases, but you don’t have to worry as it doesn’t interfere with your normal progress. Look out for a full review a little later in the week.
