For those of you who have been fans of the perverted little man known as Leisure Suit Larry over the past couple of decades and who have been looking forward to the upcoming Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards HD remake, it looks like the wait may finally be drawing closer to an end. Originally slated for release in 2012 after a rather successful Kickstarter campaign, the game’s release was eventually delayed until 2013.
Replay Games mentioned during GDC 2013 to Joystiq that the HD remake would be arriving in the second half of May, sometime between May 15th and May 30th. If you’re a fan of the original game, don’t think you will be able to just breeze through this remake. Replay Games has altered a majority of the original puzzle to prevent people who have the old ones memorized from just powering through this version.
Apparently Replay Games plans to make some future Leisure Suit Larry games as well including some sort of free-to-play Larry Casino style game. The company is also considering heavily about remaking Leisure Suit Larry 2. Both of these games have not had any platforms announced though as development hasn’t even really started. They need to finish Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards first.
