Catequesis horror survival game will be coming to Android this Fall

A new horror survival game wrapped up in 8-bit retro graphic goodness called Catequesis will be heading to Android and iOS this upcoming Fall. Developed by a little indie group of game developers Survival Horror Story: Catequesis, as the game is officially called, is about meeting your girlfriend’s parents but as you may be guessing, it isn’t a pleasant experience at all.

Players will be taking on the role of Daniel who is heading over to is girlfriend Sophie’s house to meet her parents. There are a few things wrong with the entire situation unfortunately such as Sophie’s dad has an incurable disease and the only way to save him is by performing some rather creepy religious rite. However you won’t be doing this by yourself and Sophie. You’ll need the assistance of their rather creepy neighbor as well. As you’re probably guessing, things just get progressively worse from that point.

The fine folks who happen to be developing Catequesis mentions that this game is inspired by some other classic games such as Zelda, Deadly Premonition and Lone Survivor. The game itself is a blend of themes ranging from foreign horror styles to Catholic religious traditions and everything in between. Visually the developers have gone with a retro flare for the graphics, most of which are 8-bit and 16-bit visuals. Rounding off the game is a bit more of a modern style of chiptune music for the soundtrack which actually fits into everything quite nicely.

For those of you who are a fan of horror survival games and all things unique when it comes to gaming, Catequesis is one title to keep an eye on. As for when it will actually arrive on Android, all we know is that it will be released sometime this Fall. Until further details are released, we do have a teaser trailer to check out which you can view below.
