NES-Retku is a retro style homage to the old school beat-em-up games

NES-Retku by Panic Art Studios is a pure retro-style beat-em-up game that definitely looks to pay tribute to the old school games of a similar nature. The storyline is about as crazy as the fact that this game is also being developer by a single person, except for the soundtrack. It is a rare instance where we see a game made by one person that looks like it has a team behind it.

There isn’t a whole lot of details regarding the game right now as it is still in development. However, we do know the storyline goes along like this:

You’re a Finnish YouTube-based game critic with a friend who looks like Flat Eric. You get sucked into a retro video game and can only escape by battling enemies and ultimately defeating the game’s boss, Ghostface.

In order to escape the virtual wold you happen to be trapped in, you will have to master different combos and skills on your journey through this virtual world, hopefully defeating the end boss and earning your freedom. This game looks like a retro gamers heaven when it comes to the old school brawlers from back in the day.

As for when you can get your hands on NES-Retku, right now the release date is slated for this Summer. Until then, you can view the video above for a first look at NES-Retku.
