Google Play APK teardown reveals upcoming Google Play Games ahead of Google I/O

Over the weekend the new Google Play APK was ripped apart by the folks over at Android Police and inside the APK’s gooey innards were source files for the alleged Google Play Games service we have been talking about on and off for over two years. It looks like Google I/O 2013 will more than likely have an announcement announcing the official Google game center type of service we’ve all been wishing for.

The files found reveal features like multiplayer source files, cloud saving and things like achievements. This service will also allow for things like matchmaking, in-game chat, leaderboards, invitations, icon badges and lobbies. Essentially this will be like iOS’s Game Center but possibly even more robust than that service currently is.

Saved games will also be synced up as well meaning if you buy a new Android device, just like your Gmail and Contacts can be synced up with your new phone or tablet, so can your saved games. There are also a bevy of settings that will be available for you to customize your experience such as leaderboard filters, G+ Circle filtering and notification settings.

Google is expected to full reveal officially this new Google Play Games service during Google I/O 2013 which starts in two days.
