While we already have a port of open source version of Transport Tycoon, called OpenTTD, but it looks like we are now going to have an official version of the game arriving soon. 31X and Origin8 are teaming up to bring a revitalized version of the original game over to Android sometime later this year.
This new version of the game will feature everything the original came with but this version will have a UI completely redesigned for mobile gamers. To ensure that this will stay true to the original gaming experience, Chris Sawyer who made the original Transport Tycoon, Transport Tycoon Deluxe, and Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 & 2 has come on board to help with the designing of the mobile version of Transport Tycoon.
For those of you unfamiliar with this game, essentially you’ll be building all kinds of transportation routes for a variety of vehicles. You’ll be transporting cargo all over the world and hopefully making money while you do it. You’ll start off having to deal with roads and trains but eventually the game expands into transporting goods via sea and air as well.

Classic Sim Game Transport Tycoon Pulling in to Mobile Platforms this Year!

Transport Tycoon for mobile platforms has been designed and directed by legendary game designer Chris Sawyer, the original creator of Transport Tycoon, Transport Tycoon Deluxe, and Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 & 2. Veteran developers Origin8 have recreated and restored Sawyer’s original simulation code, resulting in the deepest, richest simulation game yet seen on mobile.
