[Updated] Exclusive: Want in on the Dead on Arrival 2 multiplayer beta? Well we’re the official hosts!

N3V Games and DroidGamers have teamed up to host the official open beta for the multiplayer gameplay for N3V Games upcoming title Dead on Arrival 2. We’ve talked about this game a few times in the past since we got wind of it, with the closed beta phases having been going on the past couple of months already. However it is time to expand and really test out the multiplayer gameplay for Dead on Arrival 2.

Update July 19th, 2013 10:44pm PST: There was a slight problem with the APK file originally available for download. There is a new build available which solves this problem. We’ve also mirrored a secondary download of the new APK as well to ensure it works for everyone. Please re-download and re-install.

For those of you unfamiliar with Dead on Arrival 2, this is the sequel to the original zombie massacring game. Using a top-down perspective, you’ll be going around killing zombies after a zombie apocalypse has happened. You don’t just have zombies to worry about either but traps and other hazards that will end your life pretty damn quickly.

This new sequel sports improved graphics over the original, more weapons, more levels and pretty much more of everything the original game had. There is also multiplayer in this game which, up until now, was in closed beta. While this is an open beta, we’ve teamed up with N3V Games to be the official exclusive hosts for said open beta of the multiplayer game mode which is 4-player co-op style.

Of course this is a beta so you’ll have to keep an eye out for any bugs that you may find while playing it. If you do happen to find any bugs, be sure to report them to the developers which you can do through the beta forums over on the game’s website. This beta isn’t strictly for Tegra-based devices either. While the game will give Tegra 4 owners extra visual effects to enjoy, anyone will be able to play this game as long as they have a newer Android device.

If you don’t have a high-end new Android device, the game will automatically put the graphical settings to the lowest which you can then customize to your liking and ensuring good performance of the game on your device. N3V Games does recommend that you have at least a dual-core chipset in whatever Android device you’re going to be playing Dead on Arrival 2 on, but that is only a recommendation. High-end single-core Android devices should be able to play the game as well. This will get optimized even more when the game is officially released so if you find that you can’t play the game now, you should be able to when the official release happens unless you’re running a G1 or something.

To participate in this open beta, you will need to register on the official Dead on Arrival 2 site as a beta tester. That way you’ll be able to log into the game as well as the beta forums to report any issues. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be able to download the game either from the Dead on Arrival 2 website or through us here at DroidGamers as we will be the official mirror for the beta APK file. We will also have an official forum set up as well should you want to communicate bugs, suggestions or just talk to other players or the developers over there as well as on the beta forums.

So if you’ve been waiting for a chance to get in on this beta, now is the time to do so. We’ll be on there playing as well so keep an eye out for us. You can also check out the official open beta multiplayer trailer below.
