Ouya had released a new commercial video on their YouTube account which got pulled from their YouTube account rather quickly. We aren’t sure if Ouya pulled it themselves or what happened, although we think that is indeed the case, the video has already been hosted on another user’s account for the rest of the world to watch still and wonder what in the hell Ouya was thinking with this commercial.
Update August 21st, 2013 3:33pm PST: According to an official statement from Ouya to Kotaku, the ad below is not an official ad which is pretty easy to say that when it is just on YouTube. A disclaimer of some sort would have been smart. Either way they are saying that basically they are experimenting with animated content and ads stating the following:
We are experimenting with animated content and posted this video briefly to get feedback from our community. Stay tuned for our official video! – Ouya PR
While this is an animated cartoon, it dos show some slob in his underwear who ends up pulling his own spine out by the tongue before proceeding to beat himself over the head with it. While we get what the message is that they were trying to state, having this slob barf so much that it fills his room up to almost his knees is a bit much. Ouya has done a pretty terrible job marketing this console. We could go on and on about that for days but this video pretty much speaks for itself regarding the choices made in how this console has been marketed, which is a shame.
