A new Star Wars games has been announced today called Star Wars Uprising, which will be coming to mobile devices soon. This new game takes place between the events of Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, bridging the gap between the two time frames and filling in the story between the two.
Kabam, in partnership with Walt Disney and Lucasfilm, has been brought on to publish Star Wars Uprising which means this will be a free-to-play game. This is an RPG style game where players will be able to create a character,choose a faction, and once that is done, you will be jumping into the game which follows key events set in the Anoat Sector. This does include Hoth and Cloud City. From there players will go on to complete missions and level up their character, customizing them with new skills and better gear along the way.
According to Kabam, there will be hundreds of abilities that can be learned in Star Wars Uprising, and there is even more in regards to gear that can be found. All of this is in place so players can basically create their own interpretation of some of the classes within the Star Wars universe, such as Smuggler, Bounty Hunter, Rebel Guerilla, Diplomat, Gambler. You can also create something entirely new if those do not fit what you want to play as.
Star Wars Uprising does not have a release date yet, only that it will be arriving soon for Android and iOS. However, if you do plan to play this game, Kabam now has pre-registration live and doing this will net you some rewards (unique gear) when the game does launch. Closed beta testing should be starting up soon, and if sign-ups go live for that, we will post an update.
