Apparently Valve’s Half-Life is playable on your Android Wear watch of choice

While it may be a bit on the smaller side of things, if you really want to scratch that FPS itch you may be having while out and about, then you will be happy to know that you can play Valve’s Half-Life on your Android Wear watch. What is even a bit more surprising is that the performance of the game, in most places, is actually pretty good, hitting 30FPS at times.

It does go low on the FPS meter as well in certain areas, running at 2FPS (frames-per-second). However the fact that is can hit 30FPS is impressive. Sp how do you play Half-Life on your Android Wear watch? The same way you play Team Fortress Classic on your Android Wear watch, using the SDLash3D app and a little bit of tweaking.

You need three things to actually pull this off:

1) The original Half-Life game
2) SDLasg3D App
3) Extras.7z

Once you have those, you are pretty much good to go. The key item here is the SDLash3D app which is basically an emulator that runs games built using the GoldSource Game Engine, which was used to build a lot of Valve’s older titles. Once you’ve got the game running on your Android Wear watch, you will use small on-screen controls to play Half-Life. The only real difficulty is playing the game with the small controls. Get used to that, and the occasional render lag spike, and you are good to go.

For those of you interested in trying this out, YouTuber Dave Bennet has a pretty decent guide you can follow on his site. You can also see the game in action on an LG smartwatch in his video above. Download links for SDLash3D and Extras.7z are available over on his site as well.
