Albion Online’s closed beta starts in November, gets a new video released to check out

Albion Online is getting closer and closer to its official closed beta launch, which is good since we’ve already had two or three closed Alpha testing phases. In order to get players a little hyped up about the new closed beta, the developers (Sandbox Interactive) have released a new video for everyone to check out called Missions and Factions.

For those of you not familiar with this game, Albion Online is basically the first truly cross-platform compatible full MMORPG. By full MMORPG we mean that the PC version and the mobile version are the same, with nothing slimmed down and you are even playing on the same servers as PC gamers. The only difference is that you are using touchscreen controls instead of a keyboard and mouse with your mobile device.

This is a sandbox MMORPG so you can chose to do pretty much whatever you want in this game. You can focus on leveling and finding loot and completing quests, or learning all the high-end crafting recipes and become a master blacksmith, leatherworker, etc etc. You can buy a piece of land and set up a house for yourself, or buy a bigger piece of land and set up your own town basically. In other words, there is a LOT to do in Albion Online, all of which you can do in any way you want. Of course there is PvP as well, including Guild vs Guild fights. Guilds can also own large kingdoms and plots of land.

We have participated in the closed Alpha testing phases, which you can check out our hands-on preview in our previous article. The new video goes over how the Missions work in Albion Online and how it all tied into the open world aspect of the game. Some missions actually influence the economy in the game, while others affect other aspects. So they are not just plain missions. As for Factions, the developers goes over a bit of the backgrounds regarding the Factions in Albion Online. Both features will be available in the closed beta.

For those of you interested in participating in the closed beta, it will be starting in November 2015, although a specific launch date hasn’t been revealed. You can check out the new video below.
