Help Sour Patch Kids fight off an invasion from evil candy in Sour Patch Kids: Candy Defense

As is common among gaming these days, often times new releases tend to pull from other IPs. In this case, there’s a new game out that’s themed around the candy known as Sour Patch Kids. This is a classic Tower Defense game, based around the idea of the Sour Patch Kids having stolen some golden artifacts from some evil Gummy Bears (and related/aligned Gummy creatures).

Like other games within the genre, players will be tasked with positioning the defenses at designated spots that are adjacent to the winding route the the Gummies will be taking. Players will have a variety of tools at their disposal that range from rapid shooters, to slower and more powerful ones, and even Hero units, such as the knight, that can both be re-positioned, as well as stand directly in the path and attack units (though they don’t actually impede the progress of the Gummies as this occurs, so they any surviving unit will pass through). As Gummies are destroyed by the defenses, players will collect the currency left behind to purchase additional defenses.

Sour Patch Kids: Candy Defense Features:

– Awesome defense battles and intense boss fights! 12 specialized tower upgrades to customize your strategy!
– Command your Heroes and see them take on the gummy horde!
– Unique hero abilities and auras to charge up your towers offensive power!
– Over 16 different enemies, from Bears to Bunnies each with their own skills!
– Hours of gameplay with over 160 achievements.
– Extra missions that will challenge your tactical  skills to the limit.

Firepower is collected and upgraded by players, with are a dozen different upgrades in all. Stats include Damage, Attack Rate, Range, and other qualities endemic to the particular unit or turret. The game is visually themed around the idea of something that would’ve been built by kids, so some of the turrets appear to have a baseball that re-purposed into a chassis for Sour Patch Kids to sit in and man, or battlefields that are clearly set in a back yard.

Sour Patch Kids: Candy Defense is already available from Google Play. The game can be played for free, but it also contains both advertisements, as well as optional IAPs.
