Iron Marines is an upcoming Sci-Fi RTS by the team behind the Kingdom Rush saga. We’ve waited a while for it, but thankfully Ironhide announced today that it will launch on Android this September 14th.
Just like Kingdom Rush, Iron Marines is all about tower defence. Except this time around, you’ll swap your arrows and fireballs for lasers and missiles.
The differences aren’t just limited to cosmetics though. While you will spend a lot of time defending, attacking is important too.
Iron Marines will launch on September 14th
You’ll have a squadron of the eponymous Iron Marines at your disposal, and each unit will have a defined combat role. Each role has a bunch of different powers and abilities to help you in battle.
If the battle goes the wrong way, you can swing it back in your favour by changing each unit’s role on the fly. For example, you could swap a flamethrower for a sniper to hit that irritating distant unit.
Then you’ve got a bunch of other special weapons like bomb strikes, turrets, and support troops. As we said, there’s a lot more going on here than just defending.
