The mobile ports of the two noughties 3D Oddworld games – Stranger’s Wrath and Munch’s Oddysee – are temporarily going cheap on Google Play.
Munch’s Oddysee originally came out in 2001 for the original Xbox. It got pretty good reviews, but not as good as those enjoyed by its 2005 follow-up Stranger’s Wrath.
Both games see you wandering around in the dark and beautifully realised universe of Oddworld, though they’re quite different in tone.
In Munch’s Oddysee you play as a gormless, bug-eyed, sticked-limbed monster, while in the much more mature Stranger’s Wrath you play as a badass bounty hunter.
Each game is now 89p on Google Play, down from £2.79. We recommend Stranger’s Wrath unreservedly, and we recommend Munch’s Oddysee reservedly. If you only buy one, buy the former.
