Razer Phone: Razer to be the NVIDIA of mobile?

Razer Phone

Razer has just announced the Razer Phone, an absolute beast of an Android device, coming soon to a palm near you.

It’s got a 120 Hz UltraMotion Quad HD 5.7 inch display, Dolby-fuelled front-facing speakers, 8 GB RAM, and the most powerful Snapdragon to date – the 835.

There’s also an absolutely massive 4,000 mAh battery, which promises an entire day of play. It charges really quickly too, thanks to Qualcomm’s QuickCharge functionality.

In layman’s terms, you’re effectively getting the most powerful and technically capable gaming smartphone around – and it’s only available on Android.

The Razer Phone – the most powerful gaming smartphone yet?

But all of this is just conjecture until we get our hands on it. Only then will we know just how capable it is.

What’s most heartening about it, is that Razer is clearly taking a leaf out of NVIDIA’s book by setting up gaming partnerships.

So far, Razer is working with Square Enix, Madfinger, Bandai Namco, Nexon, and more to optimise their games for the Razer Phone.

In the fragmented world of Android development, that can only be a good thing. Not only will the Razer Phone be more capable, the best games will be better optimised for it.
