One of my favorite types of games is word games and there are plenty of them in the Android market. Today I have two relatively new ones for all you wordsmiths out there. So get your Dictionaries and Thesauruses ready if you snag either of these games off of Google Play.

Craneballs Studios has a sequel on the way for their gun saturated FPS game Overkill. Appropriately named Overkill 2, this sequel will once again come with a ridiculous amount of weapons to play around with and customize in order to properly take out your enemies with. However, if you want to get a head start with Overkill 2, there is a way you can nab yourself a free gun.
In terms of content OUYA seems to keep on growing bigger and bigger. While not all of the games submitted during OUYA’s CREATE contest will be made into full titles for us to play, there are still plenty of them that will become full titles and there are plenty of developers outside of the CREATE contest working on games for the Android powered console.
Noodlecake Studios, creators of such games as Happy Jump and Trainyard, have released another game onto the unsuspecting masses called Zombie Road Trip. The game is straightforward and to the point. You’re in a car, and a horde of hungry zombies who can apparently run really fast are chasing you. I mean really fast.
Refresh Creations has released Super Grid Run, a quick and simple game which involves you navigating a cube through endless corridors of neon perils and pickups, onto the Google Play Store. Controls are simple, tap to move your floating neon cube and dodge retro looking neon walls for as long as you can.
A few days ago, HeroCraft released a new game onto Google Play called Jail Run. This is a decent little puzzle game where you grab loot and avoid traps in a bid to escape the dungeon you’re held captive in. We covered it in our latest Under the Radar column a few days ago.
Last year in October Trendy Entertainment pulled their Dungeon Defenders games from the Google Play store. They really didn’t notify anyone as to why they did this although we had our own ideas as to why it happened. One of those ideas was the recent issue with GameSpy where they shutdown multiple servers that games were hosted on.
On Friday we started our giveaway for a shiny new 16GB Nexus 7 Android tablet that the fine folks over at nVidia decided to donate towards our week long celebration where we are doing giveaways every day. Epic Devs LLC. are about to unleash their first game and its a Pixal Art game based on Pirates! You will be playing as a pirate and will have to manage your crew and explore islands for treasures while fighting off other pirates and monsters. There looks to be a building aspect to the game as well where you help create different buildings for your Pirate Haven which you can use a a base of operations for resting and regaining lost energy.
