N.O.V.A. 2 HD by Gameloft appears on the Android Market. The world rejoices.

The sequel to one of Gameloft’s first FPS games for Android called N.O.V.A has just made it’s way onto the Android Market. As promised, Gameloft will slowly be releasing their games onto the market for purchase for people who do not want to use their storefront. It comes at a cost though.

N.O.V.A. 2 HD comes complete with improved graphics, more of the storyline and if you played the first one, you will be awarded with bonuses in this one. This is basically Gameloft’s take on Halo and is a futuristic themed FPS (first-person shooter) game where you have a variety of weapons and a variety of enemies to use them on. In this sequel you can use vehicles including a full sized mech which is always fun when you really want to cause havoc.

If you played the first one, you get a couple of perks such as jumping into multiplayer with bonus XP and access to advanced weaponry. To top it off though, you’ll get a special achievement unlocked inside Gameloft Live.

Features:

  • Meet new enemies with improved AI!
  • Master a larger range of weapons & powers
  • Much more diversified gameplay: run, shoot, fall, drive a motorbike, pilot a giant mech, and blast a laser
  • The more, the merrier, now with up to 10 players in 10 multiplayer maps
  • Build a career and rise through the multiplayer leaderboard
  • Explore new locations, offering amazing graphics
  • Enjoyed the first N.O.V.A. – Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance HD? Be rewarded with extra bonuses.

  • 3 special powers: Freeze, Slow Time and Disc for melee combat
  • A wide range of enemies with improved AI, for even more intense combats
  • 1 to 10 players online or locally
  • 5 modes: Free for All, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Freeze Tag and InstaGib
  • Ranking & Perk systems
  • 10 maps on which to battle it out
  • Play against your friends or the entire world through Gameloft LIVE!
  • Worldwide leaderboards in the game & on the official website, www.near-orbit-vanguard-alliance.com

While N.O.V.A 2 has been out for a little while now on Android, it has only been available through Gameloft’s storefront. Recently though Gameloft had a change of mind and has since slowly begun releasing more games onto the Android Market. A smart move since many people refused to buy their games off their website. It comes at a cost though. As with all Gameloft games that will be coming to the market, you can expect to pay $6.99 instead of the $4.99 price on their site.

However, if you’ve been wanting this game but just didn’t want to buy it from the Gameloft store, the extra $2 shouldn’t be an issue. Of course you have to have an Android device that is supported to play this game. Full list of currently supported devices below.
