[Updated] Turn-based board game Civilization: Race of Nations is now available

With the recent release of Civilization Revolution 2 having just came about, another new Civilization-style game has just been released called Civilization: Race of Nations. This particular Civilization-style game comes in the form of a turn-based board game instead of the usual RTS style that the actually franchise uses.

Important note: This is an unauthorized digital adaptation of the board game Through The Ages (see Reddit for details). Please keep that in mind when considering downloading this game. Thanks to Winged Nazgul for the heads up in the comments below.

Even though this is labeled as a board game by the developers, a lot of it plays out just like a city building type of game. Players will have to build up their empire, advancing it through technological advances and warfare. Players will need to build structures such as mines, farms, libraries and laboratories in order to get their population advancing in the world, preferably ahead of your opponents.

Civilization: Race of Nation Features:

– play on one device with friends or computer players,
– play online with Google Play,
– achievements,
– rankings,
– interactive tutorial,
– experimental computer player,
– user friendly and easy to read board of whole civilization,
– simple switching between players.

This game allows for between 2-4 players to play against each other, trying to get ahead of their opponents as they build up their empire to be the most advances. While a lot of it focuses on your actual advancement of your empire, you will also need a military force to protect yourself with in case you get attacked.

Civilization: Race of Nations is now available on Google Play and is a full premium game with no IAPs at all. The game’s price tag is $4.52 which isn’t too bad for this type of game.
