Star Wars: The Old Republic security key app for Android

The Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR for short) MMORPG has gotten a security key application for Android which was release recently onto the market. This is yet another security application for another MMORPG to help keep your account more safe from anyone who wants to break into it.

Basically these types of apps add an extra level of security by generating a random key that you need in order to access your account. Blizzard has done this with Battle.net and a few other companies and their games also have one on the Android Market. These applications are completely optional though so if you feel your account is safe enough as it is then you don't have to use one of these. It never hurts to be safer though.

This security application will allow you to apply an additional layer of protection to your Star Wars: The Old Republic account by generating a unique, one-time passcode that you can use in addition to your regular password. This is pretty simple to use as all you need to do is after installing this on your Android device, visit www.StarWarsTheOldRepublic.com to sync up your mobile security key app with your SWTOR account.

Log in to the Star Wars: The Old Republic web site, go to the My Account page and from the menu on the right side of the page choose Security Key. Follow the instructions to set up your Mobile Security Key. You will need to be connected to WiFi in order to do any of this as well. So if you happen to play SWTOR and want to use this nice extra security app, you can download it for free off the Android Market.
