RIFTS MMORPG from Trion Worlds gets an iOS app, hints at an Android version as well

Trion Worlds, developers of the RIFTS MMORPG for the PC, recently released quite the impressive little app for the game which allows users to do all sorts of cool stuff in-game including talking to friends and guild mates who are either in the game or using the app as well.

Aside from the standard guild chat, a feature that has made it's appearance in other apps for games such as the Remote Auction House app for World of Warcraft, this new application for RIFTS also supports guild chat, officer chat, guild messages of the day, the guild wall and even zone event notifications (a rather handy features). The chat features and notifications is not the only thing you can do in the app. A feature called "Lootables" offers users of the RIFTS app different ways to earn actual in-game loot simply by using the app such as scratch cards.

The release onto iOS is being dubbed as an "early beta" with an official release coming soon. A lot of people on the forums have been asking about an Android version and a member of the RIFTS team has responded on the forums hinting at an Android version in the works and coming soon. Trion Worlds is planning to release more information in the next couple of weeks so we will keep everyone updated when they do so. This app should also be free to download off the Android Market when it's released.
