Well that was a pretty quick closed beta for Valve's official Steam app for Android. having only been released since last week, the beta was a limited closed one where, if you were quick enough to get the app and log-in, you were able to get into the closed beta.
Now that doesn't matter at all as apparently the beta is now open and anyone can join in. The app is still a beta though as Valve is still working on meshing out any extra details and bugs that may arise, but at least you can actually use the app now instead of having downloaded it and not getting into the closed beta.
Of course if you use Steam a lot and haven't gone to the Android Market to get the official app, now is a great time to do it and check out the features it comes with. It is available for free.
