The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 may be the ideal tablet for you

Posted by Jeremy Hill in Hardware on April 11, 2012

There was a time when just about any brand name Android tablet would be priced ridiculously high. Manufacturers believed for one reason or another customers would pay $500+ for an Android tablet just because it worked for the iPad. They of course, were wrong. Android tablet pricing is at a race to the bottom and Amazon is in the lead. Perhaps Samsung's Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 will become a close second?

The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 wouldn't really turn many heads when you consider its specs, but its price is extremely tempting. Samsung will sell this tablet for $249.99 starting on April 22. Pre-orders are being accepted right now if you're already sold on this device. By pricing the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 so low, Samsung has the opportunity to nibble away at the Kindle Fire's market share. Anyone that wants an up to date, reliable and cheap Android tablet with all of Google's features will now have a prime candidate in the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0.

Like I mentioned earlier, this tablet won't blow anyone away as far as hardware is concerned. It's a 1Ghz dual-core device with 8GB (with a SD card slot) of storage, a 7-inch 1024 x 600 TFT display, a 3 megapixel rear camera and a VGA quality front camera. It'll also come with Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed.

Maybe that's enough for what you'll use it for. That's certainly enough for me.
