OnLive has fired up an Easter Sale where you can get a selection of games that you can stream to any of your devices for up to 75% the price of a lifetime pass. Basically what this means is that once you buy a lifetime pass for a game, you can stream it to any device you own for an unlimited amount of time, as long as OnLive is online. Sega last week released eleven Sega Genesis console titles onto OnLive for people to enjoy, two games today and have even more planned for the future as well. While most OnLive users on Android won't be able to play these using a touch screen, Xperia Play owners and gamers who have the Universal Remote gamepad will be able to enjoy these games. If you told me a decade back that I'll be enjoying some recently released Sonic Adventures and Crazy Taxi on a handheld, Sony's no less, I would have scoffed at the thought and blamed it on the case of some Y2K hysteria. Nevertheless, these tittles have made its way on the often over looked OnLive game streaming app. This year has been a mixed bag for Android gamers. Disappointments were the name of the of the day but yet despite the these lowly setbacks, Android gaming also took a huge leap in the right direction. Between massive jumps in hardware performance, more new features added to the OS regarding gaming and gaming specific devices released, it has been a great year for Android gaming. Well OnLive seems to be making a lot of news over the past couple of days whether it's regarding their possible pricing structure change in the near future for all upcoming games or adding full Xperia Play support which landed this morning. OnLive has switched the free game you get when you download the OnLive app, put a bunch of games on sale and are holding a gaming contest. OnLive is faced with a bit of an issue now that they are available on Android phones and tablets and soon to be on iOS devices as well. This little issue is about the overlapping of games and how they plan to combat that. One idea they are throwing around is that future OnLive games could end up being broken down into episodes. In our previous article last week about being able to use DroidMote to play OnLive games on your Android tablet while using your Android phone as a game controller, we mentioned that we were not sure if it would work for games that are not optimized yet with touch screen controls. Well thanks to one of our readers, we now know it does and you can see it in action after the break. Following up on the OnLive news of the day, we already hinted at something regarding L.A. Noire in our previous article announcing OnLive's service launching today. Well one of the major titles you can look forward to showing up with custom touch screen controls is Rockstar's and Team Bondi's hit game. |
