Gamescom is one of a few major European gaming conferences that happens every year. This year, however, will be a little different than usual. That is because Gamescom is expanding and Gamescom 2012 will have a dedicated section for mobile gaming.

The announcement that R-Type is coming to Android Sept. 12th should have your retro gaming hunger in need of a fix right now, we feel it's our job to just make it worse. With that said, there is another retro-style shooter coming our way called Disciples of the Space Goddess.

If you watch any sort of Minecraft videos then you've probably watch some from the Yogscast which is done by Simon and Lewis. Generally these two are pretty damn funny in their own shows but Sony Ericsson got them inside the majestic Xperia Play Winnebago for an interview at GamesCom.

The Phamble Phamily are development studio, Medrick Games, main characters for their upcoming series of games based around the family. Each member of the family is made up from a little drop of water and it looks like each member will be getting a game based around them.

Succubus Interactive has been around the gaming scene for around 10 years but chances are you've probably never heard of them. This is because they generally make serious or educational games for corporations or work on projects in conjunction with other game studios. You're about to get excited about them though now.

We already know that OnLive's game streaming service is heading to Android devices soon thanks to their new Universal Controller. Hell we've already planned with it on a Motorola XOOM back during E3 2011. Well there is a rumor floating around GamesCom that the first device to get it is the HTC EVO 4G.

So far with every conference that has happened since the Xperia Play got released has seem Sony Ericsson, along the their Xperia Play, at those conferences showcasing upcoming titles that will be destined for the Xperia Play in the future. GamesCom 2011 is no exception to that rule.

Remember last week we told you about a dance-off that would be happening today at GamesCom between the Android Robot and the PopCap zombie? Well the dance-off happened and while normally something like this would fit right into our 'Awesomeness' series, it ended up fitting into the 'Humor' series instead.

GamesCon 2011 is just around the corner and a world first event is set to take place there. While this should be one of the biggest GamesCon events to date, the event that will be taking place there on Wednesday August 13th at 10:30am could change history. Set your calendars and be ready.
