Tribal Wars from InnoGames has been around for awhile now and during GDC 2012 we reported that a mobile version was heading its way over to Android soon and that eventually all their in-house developed games would be coming as well.. Well now InnoGames has released a public beta version of their popular MMORTS game onto the Google Play store. After the recent news regarding Amazon's App Store now supporting in-game purchases we figured this would start to bring a lot of freemium and free-to-play games over to that App Store and it seems that it is happening already. PlayMesh has just released their free-to-play MMORTS (Massive Multiplayer Online Real-Time Strategy) game called Valor. Carbon Games is gearing up to release their free-to-play cross-platform multiplayer Action-RTS game onto mobile soon called AirMech. Slated for a mobile release sometime after Summer of this year, AirMech is currently sitting in Alpha status for the PC/browser version which is actually slated for release in a beta form this Summer as well. InnoGames have been around for quite awhile having developed and published a lot of browser-based MMORTS games with their flagship title being Tribal Wars. We got a chance to sit down with Dennis Heinert, Head of Public Relations at InnoGames during GDC 2012 where we learned that InnoGames is planning on bringing all of their in-house developed MMO titles to Android. int13 are the developers who are responsible for the bullet hell shooter that recently landed on Android called Shogun. Before that game though they had released an Augmented Reality game for Android called AR Defender. Well it looks like a sequel is coming soon to the market as well. You may or may not remember our trip to the Mobage / ngmoco offices not too long ago and we tested out two games. One game, which is currently in open beta, is Skyfall and the other was DragonCraft. People have already been participating in the closed beta and now it has moved into open beta status for all. World of Tanks MMORTS players now have some extra on-the-go tools to play around with when you are cruising around in your tank laying waste to other players in the game. This 'Assistant' app, or companion app as we like to call them, will let you access a few things when not sitting at your computer. Corroding Games initially appeared on Android with their 2D platformer Box Fox and their bitmap style graphics and unique take on a genre are back with Rusted Warfare. Based on the likes of Chris Taylor's Supreme Commander and Westwood's Command & Conquer. It's available now for Android tablet or phone in alpha and developing by the day. Those of you who are fans of pirate and multiplayer RTS (Real-time strategy) games are in for a treat soon as Chaotic Moon will be bringing Age of Booty to mobile soon including Android. This will be both a single and a cross-platform multiplayer game when it arrives. EA has finally released a member of the Command & Conquer series of games onto the mobile platform for Android. Currently this is only available through their own EA Mobile storefront through your carrier, if you have the shortcut to the EA Store installed on your phone. In my case it is available for me on my LG G2X on T-Mobile. Way back in the beginning of October we announced that PixoFactor, developers behind the Zorro game, were in the process of developing a Steampunk themed strategy game called Gaslight. Well it seems as though work is finally done on it and it's finally available on the Android Market. Age of Defenders is a cross-platform aggressive tower defense game for Android and PC-based browsers. While you have to defend your base against the enemy using towers, you also have to build units to head up assaults on your opponents base in order to, hopefully, destroy it before they destroy yours. |
