Fans of TCGs (Trading Card Games) has a new title to dig their teeth into. For those of you not familiar with what TCGs are, if you have ever heard of games like Magic the Gathering or some Android games like Rage of Bahamut, then you will already have an idea as to what Hothead Games' newest release called Big Win Hockey is all about. EA has come out to confirm that FIFA 13 will be heading to iOS and 'other mobile platforms' later this year. Why some of these major game development companies have such an aversion to mentioning Android in their announcements is beyond us but we can expect to see this game released onto Android as well. Like a middle child, mobile games are constantly vying for our attention. Every week there is a new shipment of mobile games propping themselves on our desks and demands to be played. While we do have dedicated reviewers, sometimes the games can be just as engaging as reviewing your W-2 forms. With the tsunami of new games every week we find our selves repeatedly drowning at the staggering amount of games. Gamevil today released their Punch-out style game onto iOS called Punch Hero. Since they decided to release it today on iOS, we decided to toss them an email to see when the Android version would be arriving. Thankfully, if you like boxing games, then you won't have to wait too much longer to play this one. Back in March of this year Sega released the latest edition to their Virtua Tennis series of games, a mobile optimized title called Virtua Tennis Challenge. At the time of the game's release, it was made available only for the Xperia Play with a release date for all other Android devices being in May 2012. Following up on yet another story today, a few weeks ago we also talked about Glu's upcoming addition to the Deer Hunter series of games called Deer Hunter Reloaded. Well that game as well has been released today onto the Google Play store for those of you who enjoy creeping around a virtual forest and shooting animals. If you happen to be as old as I am, and I am not that old, then you have had a chance to play a lot of the handheld LED games from back in the day. One of the more popular ones happened to be the Mattel LED Football game which originally hit the store shelves back in 1978. Well that game is now available on Android via the Amazon App Store. Free to play company Glu has just unleashed an adrenaline pumping freestyle motocross on Google Play titled FMX IV Pro. While similar games are already on the market, FMX IV Pro focuses less on obstacles and racing but on something greater-- stunts. Prior Nokia owners may be familiar with the tittle as the game premiered as a Java tittle. Appbackr happens to be one of the major crowdfunding sites we watch when doing our weekly round-up for Android games looking for funds for the public. It works a little differently than other sites in that instead of getting rewards for funding a game, like on Kickstarter, you actually make a profit on your investment instead. If you told me a decade back that I'll be enjoying some recently released Sonic Adventures and Crazy Taxi on a handheld, Sony's no less, I would have scoffed at the thought and blamed it on the case of some Y2K hysteria. Nevertheless, these tittles have made its way on the often over looked OnLive game streaming app. |
