Fans of TCGs (Trading Card Games) has a new title to dig their teeth into. For those of you not familiar with what TCGs are, if you have ever heard of games like Magic the Gathering or some Android games like Rage of Bahamut, then you will already have an idea as to what Hothead Games' newest release called Big Win Hockey is all about. Heliceum Games has announced that they will be bringing their unique tower defense game, called Human Defense, to mobile and touchscreen devices. Since they use the generic 'mobile and smartphone' phrase, we can safely assume that this means Android and iOS considering those are the only two platforms that matter these days. Namco Bandai generally releases their games onto multiple platforms including both Android and iOS as well as consoles. In fact they have more games released on other platforms aside from Android. However it appears that Namco Bandai are gearing up to release a new RPG that will be exclusive to the Android platform. There's a huge advantage in the mobile gaming market nowadays, that has become crucial for a big amount of developers: you don't need to make an eye-popping games full of superb graphics to be successful. As a consequence of this, games are now rated for their content, theme, ability to hook people, and creativity. This is the case of Kairosoft: a company that has really hit the spot with their Time-Resource management games. And one of their latest releases just confirms this. Let's take a look at "Cafeteria Nipponica". Pocket Gems are a game development team that originally started making iOS games and since their beginning have acquired quite the following. Recently they also started releasing their games onto Android as well. Today marks their first Android exclusive game release, according to VentureBeat, with a title called Tap Dragon Park. Aoineko Studios has recently started up a Kickstarter project for a full 3D RPG title called Kitaru which is slated for release on multiple platforms including Android. The Kickstarter project has been up for about two weeks and has already passed the halfway mark for funding. When I was little boy, my mom and dad would always take me into Radio Shack because I liked to look at the toy robots and other gizmos the store had for sale. I also remember being completely fascinated by a computer game that featured chess pieces actively killing each other with every move. I can only assume with my limited memory that this game was some version of Battle Chess. Recently, a Kickstarter campaign got underway to bring a Battle Chess sequel to multiple platforms including Android. Yes, we know. I've read all your messages and we do apologize for missing out on our weekly feature. However, we've more than made up by upping the normally two a week games to six. So if you've been dying to know what's been getting some face time on our mobile phone, look no further than Droidgamers: Game's We're Playing The Last Two Weeks A few weeks back, a new game came out called Parallel Mafia. It was a new game from the same company, PerBlue, which produced Parallel Kingdom. Both of the parallel games are location-based RPG games. I have heard a lot of good things about Parallel Kingdom but had not played it so I decided to give the new game a try. It has taken me a while to write this review, because I have been busy playing both games! The hit iOS game Dungeon Crawlers from Drowning Monkey Games, which we reported on in January of this year, has made its way over to Android in the form of a temporary Xperia exclusive. While these exclusives are usually solely for the Xperia Play, this particular one is for all Xperia brand smartphones, not just the Xperia Play. Tribal Wars from InnoGames has been around for awhile now and during GDC 2012 we reported that a mobile version was heading its way over to Android soon and that eventually all their in-house developed games would be coming as well.. Well now InnoGames has released a public beta version of their popular MMORTS game onto the Google Play store. Back in the beginning of March 2012 Sega announced that their upcoming Phantasy Star Online 2 RPG would be smartphone and tablet compatible for both the iOS and Android platforms. Along with that news came word that it would be a free-to-play game supported through in-app purchases but as the game's series producer explains, it will be done the right way. Usually when we talk about a board game being converted over to a mobile format for Android. However, we get to report on the exact opposite of that for a change which is also highly unusual. D20 Studios, developers of the popular multiplayer strategy game Hero Mages, has just been picked up by Game Salute and will have Hero Mages published as an actual board game. Another Tegra-based Android game has arrived on Tegra Zone called Eden to GREEEEN THD from iNiS Corporation. We actually got a chance to sit down and play Eden to GREEEEN THD at GDC 2012 with Keiichi Yano, Chief Creative Officer for iNiS Corporation and the game is quite fun. Today is a busy day for game releases and another addictive title from Kairosoft has landed on the Google Play store which we reported on yesterday that it was coming today. Well if you don't have a Tegra 3 Android device to sink your time into Dark Meadow: The Pact THD, you can sink your teeth into Pocket Academy instead. |
