So a new rumor is rolling around out there that Google is currently developing a Game Center style application and service for Android. While this is a 'new' rumor, back in June of 2011 we actually predicted that this would happen eventually anyways.

Facebook will soon launch App Center, a new way to find social apps and games

In a few weeks time, Facebook will launch its own app store in an effort transform the social network into a premier app destination. App Center will be spread out across the desktop, Android and iOS. Google Play no longer displays third-party apps

As hardened Android users, I'm sure you noticed a little bug that has been around for a good while. Whenever you would download an app from a third-party such as the Amazon Appstore, it would show up in Google Play as if you purchased it from there. With the latest Google Play update, that issue no longer exists.

Amazon's App Store now allowing developers to add in-app purchases

Amazon has announced that, through the use of their new API, developers can now integrate in-app purchases into their applications and games on the Amazon App Store. Amazon will also be accepting in-app purchases from users on both Android devices in general as well as the Kindle Fire.

RIM is changing the way Android apps are side-loaded on the BlackBerry PlayBook

The Android app ecosystem is apparently a "chaotic cesspool" as far as Research in Motion's Vice President of Developer Relations Alec Saunders is concerned. Last week, Saunders wrote on Twitter that a whopping 25% of Android apps are pirated. As a result, RIM will encrypt apps in the next BlackBerry OS update.
