Psym Mobile, developer of the popular series of games Abduction! and Abduction! World Attack, recently held a close Beta sign-up for their upcoming game Abduction! 2. Since then word has been kept under wraps about this latest installment into the Abduction! series of games and this new addition is sporting some seriously cool features. Want to know more? We just wanted to let everyone know that Angry Birds Beta is now in the Android Market. So what are you waiting for.... Oh, what is Angry Birds? Well if you must know before you download it it is a strategy/action/carnage game that is similar to being a kid and destroying ant hills. We received a tip from one of our followers about a game that just got released onto the Android market called Battle Bears Free developed by SkyVu Pictures. This is a 3D OTS (Over the Shoulder) Shooter game where you are a bear armed with a variety of weapons and your job is to basically defend your little bunked against hordes of other colored bears that want to hug you to death. Persian Maze, developed by PS Games, is a new ball rolling maze game with all sorts of obstacles to get through before you can make it to the next stage. Tiles that drop out from under you, enemy spiked balls, floor spikes, twisters and more are all there to stop you from getting out of each maze successfully. This game kept it simple though with clean 2D graphics. Defensiod is a new tower defense game just released onto the Android market and was developed by Darren White. Just like any other tower defense game you have your map and a selection of upgradeable towers to use in your attempts to defend yourself against your enemies. However this tower defense game has a couple of unique features that set it apart from the rest. Are you a ninja? Enjoy bouncing off walls and attacking enemies from behind? Well even if you aren't there is a new game on the Android market which is a fast paced platformer with a nice 8-bit retro style called Hyperactive Ninja, developed by Ninja Coders. In this game you are a ninja strung out on caffeine and you need to get past every level continuously move and rescue all the coffee. We just received a tip yesterday from Dave Loft who was the person responsible for bringing to light Gameloft's DRM policy issues awhile back. According to Dave, you are now available to get Avatar HD for your phone from the Gameloft website and sure enough after checking out the link it is there and is available for purchase at $4.99. It looks real good too! Following in the spirit of yesterday's retro game article about OpenTyrian here is another retro arcade style game that just landed on the Android market recently called Full Metal Warriors II by JoyMaster Holdings Co. LTD. and is your one-way ticket to some old school arcade ass kicking action. It is time to unleash special attacks and beat down every enemy in your path. It is time for some more retro-style gaming and the latest to drop onto the Android market is a game called OpenTyrian by developer Pelya. Pelya is actually a regular over at the Anddev.org forums and has released a few other games onto the market but none as slick as this one. This is your retro space shooter you've always wanted to have on your phone. Guns'n'Glory is the newest release by game developer HandyGames. In Guns'n'Glory you are actually the bad guy, running a group of bandits who steal gold from settlers. It is a unique game in that it combines the action gaming genre with the gameplay style of a tower defense game making it a really interesting and dynamic game to play. Crossfire is an interesting little game developed by Joinmobile and was just released onto the Android market today. Crossfire has you control three mechanical warriors on one side of the screen and battle it out with enemy mechanical warriors who are situated on the other side of the screen and once everyone is on the board you begin shooting at each other over a barrier, like Tennis. You're Ralph, a dog who cares about his bones. Unfortunately for you, you've lost them all and now you are running around trying to find them and what is worse is that you have a set amount of time to find them! That's the basis for a new platform game called Ralph by Jadnet Games just released onto the Android market today in it's Beta form. We have been reporting on Angry Birds by developer Rovio ever since it was announced that it would be making it's way over to the Android platform which was a couple of months ago. Since then we have posted updates about it and even a video showing Angry birds being played on a Droid. Well for all of you waiting for this game, your waiting is almost over. As smartphones and, particularly, Android-powered phones evolve, users are finding themselves migrating away from traditional, motion-sensitive gameplay and opting for more traditional and more robust interactions. Still, some developers continue to churn out typical tilt-based titles. Lava Ball 3D is a traditional tilt-ball game that features...lava. Lots and lots of lava. The ever popular PES 2010 game by Konami is being revisited and revised with new features in the next installment to the soccer series of games. PES 2011 will have two major changes involved with it: 1) It will have social features added to it through a platform like Scoreloop or OpenFeint and 2) It will come with local WiFi and Bluetooth multiplayer. Real PC and console games on mobile devices are a kind of holy grail of gaming. And, like the grail, they are probably just fantasy and will never truly materialize. For now, we have to be happy with pretty versions of our favorites that offer abbreviated feature sets and gameplay ported over from their PC and console counterparts. This is what The Sims 3 offers in spades. This game isn't exactly new, in fact it has been around for a bit. It is also not the only game of this type on the market. However it does offer a completely different view point then most of this tunnel racing genre in that instead of rolling horizontally or flying through the tunnel, you are actually falling downward through the tunnel. The very popular game iPhone Galcon, developed by Hassey Enterprises Inc, has finally landed on the Android market. Most people who have owned an iPhone at some point have probably also played this game. While there are already games similar to this on the Android market, most people liken this to being one of the best versions of this sort of game. We haven't heard a lot from developers JavaGround Inc who developed the cross-platform tactics game Uniwar for Android and the iPhone. Going under the name TBS Games on the Android market, they released a new game not too long ago called Dante: The Inferno which is a top-down Diablo II style game based around getting out of hell and saving souls. Hella Umbrella, developed by Ramblin' Wreckage, is a very unique platformer coming soon to the Android market. While admittedly right now the Android market lacks a good selection of platformers with few being good to play, Hella Umbrella is set to change this and features some crazy gameplay elements yet to be seen in an Android platformer game. |
