Today we speak to the Chief Wonka at ustwo™, the studio of dreams behind hit innovative applications like MouthOff and Pockets, about the upcoming changes to Whale Trail and their plans to recoup their £300k ($500,000) of investment. If you’re a pinball enthusiast then you may have heard of Zen studios. Creator of hit titles such as Marvel Pinball and Pinball FX, this indie developer knows their way around the digital table top. Having recently released their first Android title, Zen Pinball, we had a chance to speak with Mel Kirk, who gave us a rundown on their partnership with Marvel Comics, Android, and of course, pinball! For those unfamiliar with Indie developer Vector Unit, you might have come across their popular Android title, Riptide, GP (read our review here) and recently released Shine Runner (review here) which introduced gamers to realistic racing in incredible water physics. While starting out on consoles, Vector Unit brought the same hard hitting quality and fun gameplay to our devices. Mark Rein, Co-Founder of Epic Games, sat down with Edge Magazine to talk more about Unreal Engine 3. Of course, as with any interview with Mark, the questions always come up about Android, which is great except he is probably sick of it by now. Either way, he does mention problems still with Android. Recently, we got the opportunity to sit down with the developers of Legends Arcana and ask them a series of questions pertaining to their game and also Android development. They also have a very bold statement in their market description and they dare you to try their game, and if you don't like it, they will refund you even if you are past your fifteen minute window! One of the most unusual games available for Android, Godville is ideal for busy or lazy gamers - because it pretty much plays itself. Confused? It is basically an RPG game where you are not the main character for once but instead the deity he worships. We spoke to the development team to clear a few things up... Clockwork Rune is an upcoming 3D MMORPG being developed by Bonefide Software. The route they are taking with this is a more realistic looking 3D game you'll be able to play anywhere you have a connection on your Android device. We got to sit down with Bonefide Software to talk about Clockwork Rune and how it is coming along. Cory and Andrew Trese are the team behind Star Traders, an unashamedly old-school RPG that might just be the most in-depth Android game currently on the market. They took time out from working on their latest project to speak to Droid Gamers about their gaming inspirations, the future of Android and intrusive fast food adverts. We sat down recently with Faeria Studio and shot emails back and forth and bounced some questions off of them. They were kind enough to supply us at DroidGamers with answers to every single one. They spoke about their project called Runes, which will be a gesture based 3D MMORPG for Android. They also hinted at another project coming soon, also for Android! Shortly before HyperDevbox released Spectral Souls into the Android Market, DroidGamers got the opportunity to interview the game studio through email. They told us what it is like to develop for Android, what they want to do in the future, as well as get more quality console games ported to Android. As you may already know there has recently been a change to the android market. There's a nice new UI which makes it easier to find what you need. It has also allowed developers to add more screenshots of their app, and allowed for a longer description which ultimately leads to better advertisement. We got a chance to talk to the Development Director, Jeremy Stieglitz, over at Trendy Entertainment, developers of Android's first Unreal Engine 3 made game, Dungeon Defenders: First Wave. We talk about Unreal Engine 3, developing for Android, Dungeon Defenders: First Wave, future plans and pointing your towers at walls. In an interview with Ars Technica, Mark Rein comments about the Android OS and Unreal Engine. Overall the interview is great and is definitely a good read. Most of it is focused on iOS and Infinity Blade, however, Mark Rein does comment on Android. The Unreal Engine is up and running for Android, but we already knew that. Hyrum Fairbanks’ love of gaming cost him his job, but that’s ok. In less than a year, he went from working a thankless job at a gas company to spearheading his Salt Lake City-based cottage industry making gaming on smart phones much less tedious. Fairbanks sits down with Droid Gamers and talks about Game Gripper, their start and a new product. Hyperbees has produced some of the more original 3D games for Android with some being major hits like SpeedX 3D and Prism3D. We got to talk to Tom and Bart of Hyperbees about their games, development challenges and what's in store for Hyperbees in the future. So without further babbling on my part, here is Tom and Bart from Hyperbees! |
