The question of the day is what do you get when you connect a Galaxy Nexus to a projector and integrate Kinect into the mix? Awesomeness of a massive geek level, that's what. One innovative fellow going by the name of DDRBoxman has done exactly that to make a wall-size Android touchscreen running Ice Cream Sandwich. If you have been in the Android scene for any amount of time then you have probably heard of CyanogenMod or ClockworkMod. Well a member of the CyanogenMod team, a rather well known member of the Android community, "Koush" has announced he is developing an alternative Android Market for banned applications. Yesterday we reported on the fact that the Asus Transformer Prime comes with a locked and encrypted bootloader, making many people in the modding world rather annoyed to say the least. Whether it is to use ROMs, develop them or whatever else you want to do with a rooted Transformer Prime, a locked bootloader which is encrypted makes things very difficult. A double shot of Asus Transformer Prime news coming our way today. If you have one of these bad boys on order or happen to be lucky enough to already have one delivered then you'll be pleased to know that an update for the Prime is pushing out today which increases the overall performance of the tablet. If you were one of the many people who rushed out and got yourself an HP TouchPad for dirt cheap and have been enjoying fiddling with it, stuffing Android ROMs on it and all the other fun stuff you can do with it, you'll be interested to see this great little gaming setup for the HP TouchPad as well. We know we don't usually cover phone updates, but this is a big one -- without prior notice T-Mobile and HTC have shipped out an update that adds video chat through gtalk along with a slightly cosmetically updated interface to the free talk client. This outdates the Qik client already in place on the Sensation via T-Mobile. Also added is native screenshot support anywhere in the OS. With the new launch of the Xperia Play around the world, and coming to the US shortly, we decided it would be best to continue to inform our readers that if they want to unlock the bootloader and gain full root access to their new device they can do so without any super special methods. If you are still interested feel free to read more. Great news for all you NookColor owners out there, especially if you have rooted it. Now you have a nice, affordable tablet but a bit of a pain to install stuff sometimes and no Android Market access... wait! Now you can have the Android Market on your NookColor, so you'll be able to play those games you've wanted from the Android Market. A working Honeycomb build was shown off to the public in a recent demonstration on an unnamed Motorola tablet (codenamed: Everest). It confirmed some great features that we can expect in our future Google-supported tablets. XDA's community has more great news for us. After their triumph over the outdated Windows Mobile 6.5 OS on HTC's HD2 they've managed to do the same with Toshiba's TG-01. The world's first Snapdragon equipped smartphone is now compatible with Google's more modern Android OS. From it looks of it the Snapdragon chip manages games just fine. DroidGamers does a complete walk-through of the newest HTC Sense user interface thats going to be running on the recently announced (and not yet released) Desire HD and Desire Z. Improved music application with DLNA support, a notification bound task-switcher, offline HTC locations map service, and online integration of messaging, contacts and forwarding calls right from the website are among some of the newest features. |
