Copycat apps is one of the biggest annoyances in mobile gaming. When one particular kind of app finds great success, some developers choose to piggyback on the popular app instead of trying to create something new and exciting. In some cases, developers take code from existing apps and reverse engineer them to their liking. To combat this, Amazon recommends developers obfuscate their code. Welcome to another addition of Minecraft: Pocket Edition Modding 101. In this part we will be going over how you can access all the blocks currently unavailable to you in Minecraft: Pocket Edition even though they are actually in the game itself. 95% of these blocks are functioning as well including the mystical TNT which will explode and cause damage. Welcome to our new series which we will be doing every day for the next few days before slowing down into a weekly series, or whenever something new comes out to do with Minecraft: Pocket Edition. This series will go over all kinds of things that you can do with Minecraft: Pocket Edition such as importing custom texture packs, how to get unavailable blocks and today's subject, importing custom maps. We know we don't usually cover phone updates, but this is a big one -- without prior notice T-Mobile and HTC have shipped out an update that adds video chat through gtalk along with a slightly cosmetically updated interface to the free talk client. This outdates the Qik client already in place on the Sensation via T-Mobile. Also added is native screenshot support anywhere in the OS. It seems Rovio was nice and sneaky with the Seasons release of Angry Birds Seasons for Android and failed to mention it would have Golden Eggs for us all to find! Good news though, we are finding them and you can too with this guide! Angry Birds Seasons (Valentine's Day): Coming February!
Angry Birds Seasons (Christmas): 1) Day 13: This one is easy, just use your Yellow Birds to get to the Wreath at the middle-bottom of the structure! 2) Not yet Found
Angry Birds Seasons (Halloween): 1) Level 3-2: To get the 'floating' Pumpkin and the Golden Egg inside, you have to shoot the Boomerang Bird backward and have it come back to hit the pumpkin. It's a bit tricky. Thanks to Allen Chen for the tip! 2) 3 Stars: You'll get another Golden Egg when you have 3 stars on every level. [Unconfirmed] 3) White Bird Help Menu: Somewhere on the White Bird Help Menu there is a Golden Egg hidden. Once you find it though, it won't show up on the Golden Egg menu for Halloween. [Unconfirmed]
As always if you can confirm a Golden Egg or find a new one, let us know and we will add it! Happy Hunting! For all you Golden Egg hunters out there, one of our staff here at DroidGamers, Adam, just got themselves a Golden Egg... in Angry Birds Seasons! Found on Day 13 (today), it is hidden on the stage and you'll have to hit it with one of your Yellow Birds. Want to know where to find it? Keep on reading! We installed the new operating system on our HD2 for a hands-on look at an early build. What we found was a tweaked user interface that's more slick and more up-to-date and many improvements to the back-end for better battery life, speed and responsiveness. World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is just around the corner and it is a safe bet a lot of people who play games on their Android phones also play PC/Console games. Out of those there is probably a big percentage who play WoW or used to and are planning to get back into it with this new expansion. Here are some of the best utility apps for WoW players. Well this is rather awesome. There is a bug inside the Angry Birds game someone found out and posted the instructions on Reddit. A user going by the name of Braaaiins found the bug and after trying it myself it does work, quite well in fact. However the instructions are a bit misleading when talking about keeping the worlds unlocked. MiniSquadron and FruitNinja's are two brand new games available on the Android market that are the first to come with OpenFeint support. The application downloads and then fails to install without an error code. FruitNinja and MiniSquadron now default to the SD card on install, causing the applications to fail to install on many users phones running froyo 2.2. Google has officially responded by opening a thread on it's support page acknowledging the issue. So you've been chugging along playing the Angry Birds Beta trying to get 3 stars on all the levels while waiting for the full release but you just can't seem to get it. Well perhaps some of these Tips & Tricks might help you along. While these are from the Beta, these tips will work in the full version as well, you'll just have more level to deal with before unlocking other birds. This will be a work in progress especially when the full version is out. Until then hopefully this helps. How 3 star ratings are calculated 3 Star ratings are calculated by your points. You have to reach a certain amount of points using as little shots as possible. If you've already been playing Angry Birds then you already know each leftover bird is worth 10,000 points. You could clear a stage in one shot but not get a 3 star rating. A prime example of this is Stage 1. It only takes one shot to clear the stage but it's a pain to get 3 stars on. Why? Because damage counts as well. Not only do you need to clear the stage using the least amount of shots possible but with the most destruction to the building as well. Master that and you'll start seeing a lot more 3 star ratings appear. Horizontal Support Beams Horizontal support beams are key to getting 3 star ratings on a lot of levels. You want to hit them with as much force at the right angle to have the best effect. Using Stage 1 as an example because I already know someone who can't get 3 stars on it...you want to hit the lower of the two beams. Hit the beam with as much force as you can and you'll create the most damage and get yourself a 3 star rating! This works on a lot of levels as a shortcut to not having to use all your shots to clear a stage. Stage 1 will give you a 3 star rating once you pass 31500 point or somewhere near there. Extreme Angles Sometimes it is good to shoot your bird at an extreme angle whether it's a horizontal angle or an upward angle. This is especially true with the blue bird (the one that splits into three) and upward angles. Extreme sngle shooting works well on some stages such as stage 12. While on the topic of the blue bird, timing on when you split the bird makes a difference as well. If you are doing an extreme upward shot don't split them too early or late. I have found between half way and 3/4 of the way down is the best time to split them if you are doing an extreme upward shot, also depending on what you're trying to do of course. Roll Your Bird! Rolling your bird, the yellow one especially, is a great way to not only get those pesky pigs when they are on the ground but also to clear out extra leftover lumber etc etc when near the end of the stage. Be careful though for stone blocks as they will basically stop you in your tracks when you are doing this. This is just like skipping a stone on water so you don't want your angle too crazy or anything, just slightly off from being parallel and the best time to tap the screen for the boost is when you are real close to the ground. Tap to set off the boost and you'll roll right through most objects and kill your leftover pig as well. This is also a good way on some stages to take the support out from under the building. Bomb Birds You get introduced to the bomb birds in the end stages of the Beta. The best use for Bomb Birds is to be as close to as many adjacent blocks as you can before you blow up. This works really well in corner areas. Another good way to use them is to explode them while they still are moving but just after they land, however this depends on the stage though. Lastly if you land close enough to a TNT Box you'll be able to take out much more of the structure and possibly pigs when your Bomb Bird explodes and sets off the TNT Box as well. Patience! Don't be too quick to shoot your next bird either! Sometime things on the stage are still settling, pigs rolling, blocks shifting and so on. Wait till everything is done before shooting as you could save yourself a shot by not having to worry about something that would have ended up falling anyways if you had waited. This goes for both pigs rolling and the structure. When the game moves you back to the slingshot, wait a few seconds and make sure you aren't still gaining points, then shoot. If a pig rolls off the platform they die and it's one less target to worry about. So hopefully some of these general tips and tricks for Angry Birds help you out in your quest to get 3 stars while we all wait for the full version to be released. When it is there will be even more tips and tricks added along with hopefully some sort of walkthrough although each stage can have a variety of ways to clear it out.
