There are two major Pinball platforms on Android, Zen Pinball and Pinball Arcade. While Zen Pinball and their developers, Zen Studios, create tables from scratch and are themed in various manners like with all the Marvel based tables they have, Pinball Arcade is the faithful digital recreations of actual physical Pinball tables you used to play on in the arcade back in the day. Developers of the mobile version of one of the best shooter games from back in the day have released a new free lite version of said game. Battle Squadron One now have a free lite version, which features the entire Part 1 of the game including the whole surface level, for players to try out before buying the full version. A group of indie game developers have decided to team up and collectively discount their games from May 24 to June 1. This initiative is called Because We May, and its purpose is to celebrate online stores that give developers the choice to price their games however they like. Luckily for us, Google Play is on the list. One of the bigger complains recently has been that Gameloft has not brought support to their games for the Asus Transformer Prime. Well it seems as though this could be changing as the recent content patch for Order & Chaos that happened today also seems to have brought compatibility to the quad-core tablet. Two weeks ago Rockstar Games announced that there was a slight delay with the release of their upcoming Max Payne game for Android. Through an update on their Twitter account, Rockstar Games stated that the reason for the delay back then was do to last minute testing that needed to be done, mostly revolving around device compatibility. There's a huge advantage in the mobile gaming market nowadays, that has become crucial for a big amount of developers: you don't need to make an eye-popping games full of superb graphics to be successful. As a consequence of this, games are now rated for their content, theme, ability to hook people, and creativity. This is the case of Kairosoft: a company that has really hit the spot with their Time-Resource management games. And one of their latest releases just confirms this. Let's take a look at "Cafeteria Nipponica". We have covered the 3D MMORPG being developed by Veraxon called World of Midgard fairly extensively since the first closed beta even started. Now that the public beta has been out for a few days, it seems as though things are picking up a little for Veraxon as they have just signed a publishing deal with Aeria Games to publish World of Midgard. Recently acquired by GREE for $210 million dollars, game developers Funzio have brought their hit free-to-play crime game called Crime City over to the Amazon App Store. Crime City is basically why Funzio got acquired by GREE in the first place. While we all wait for Sega's upcoming cross-platform MMORPG called Phantasy Star Online 2 to be released, we can at least see some closed beta footage of the game. Currently Phantasy Star Online 2 is slated for release on the PC, Android and iOS sometime this Summer with the PS Vita getting the game at a later date. Back near the end of April 2012 we posted an exclusive hands-on of The Binary Mill's upcoming racing game called Mini Motor Racing. This game features a top-down perspective similar to other mini-car racing games like Reckless Racing and some very slick visuals and customization. You may be familiar with who Atomicom are as they are the developers of the popular Bang Bang Racing THD game for Tegra-based Android devices as well as their other racing game called Switch for all Android devices. Well over the weekend they decided to release four new games onto Android. Qualcomm is setting out to break a Guinness World Record at this year's E3 conference by holding what they hope will be the longest video games marathon. At E3 2012 Qualcomm, along with qualifying participants, will be sitting down for at least 26 hours playing Android games on a Samsung Galaxy 8.9 tablet. There is a new puzzle games that has landed on Android called Zombie Granny. Developed by I-Free Innovations, Zombie Granny is not your typical zombie game as it is filled with lots of mechanical puzzles and humorous characters as opposed to zombies just relentlessly trying to eat your soft and delicious brains. Yes, we know. I've read all your messages and we do apologize for missing out on our weekly feature. However, we've more than made up by upping the normally two a week games to six. It was a new game from the same company, PerBlue, which produced Parallel Kingdom. Both of the parallel games are location-based RPG games. I have heard a lot of good things about Parallel Kingdom but had not played it so I decided to give the new game a try. It has taken me a while to write this review, because I have been busy playing both games! |
