Digital Chocolate had been active in the Facebook gaming arena for awhile now with some of the most popular games available, ranking probably just below Zynga. Today they have announced that two games with be debuted using GetJar as the venue. Both Millionaire City and MMA Pro Fighter are now available on GetJar for Android.

Ironically going to GetJar shows that Millionaire City was uploaded/last updated Dec. 24th, 2010 even though the official press release just came out now. Millionaire City was actually available for Android on Dec. 27th, 2010. Both games are free full versions and while MMA Pro Fighter looks interesting, Millionaire City seems to be the more appealing of the two, especially if you like Sim games.

Digital Chocolate Chooses GetJar to Exclusively Debut its Android Games

Fastest growing virtual goods game company on Facebook goes Android with Millionaire City and MMA Pro Fighter

SAN MATEO, Calif. – January 11, 2011 – Digital Chocolate, the fastest growing virtual goods game company on Facebook, debuts its smash hits Millionaire City™ and MMA Pro Fighter™ on GetJar, the world’s largest open app store. Millionaire City was the second fastest growing game on Facebook in 2010. Both blockbuster games are available for the first time on the Android platform. Digital Chocolate joins other top publishers and brands such as Zynga with Mafia Wars, Rovio with its recent Angry Birds debut, Com2us, and The Salvation Army among others, to leverage GetJar’s proven distribution power for Android apps and games.

“Bringing our hugely popular social games to Android made a lot of sense as consumers take to the Android platform in droves,” said Jason Loia, COO of Digital Chocolate. “We decided to launch our games on GetJar because of their proven ability to market apps and games to consumers, their understanding of the space and their willingness to work closely with publishers to build awareness of their content.”

“As Android booms and the market for apps becomes increasingly difficult for consumers to navigate, we recognize that marketing apps has never been more challenging. GetJar’s focus and expertise in marketing apps using PR, our 60+ partner channels and other above the line marketing campaigns ensures that the few publishers we partner with really get massive exposure for their content,” said Patrick Mork, CMO of GetJar. “We couldn’t be happier that Digital Chocolate, a veteran and pioneer in the mobile game space, has decided to launch the Android versions of their hit franchises exclusively on GetJar. GetJar’s ‘open’ philosophy really allows us to expand the distribution of Android apps both directly via the more than 25 million consumers who access GetJar every day as well as through our network of global partners including Yahoo! Mobile search, Sprint, AT&T, Reliance, 3UK and Vodafone.”

Android is one of GetJar’s fastest growing platforms with downloads growing up to 500 percent since April of 2010.
