EA Games no longer available for Android gamers in Canada and other not-so-fun facts regarding EA

It seems either EA Mobile is currently confused as to how the Android Market works or perhaps they got into another exclusive deal with another carrier, either way though it seems EA Mobile have been busy removing, re-uploading, changing prices and more with their games.

It seems as of today, at least for right now, EA Mobile and their games are no longer available on the Android Market to Android users in Canada. Why they have been pulled from the Canadian Android Market is not yet known, however, those are the only moves EA Mobile has been doing.

EA Mobile seems to have removed Need for Speed: Shift and Tetris from the Android Market altogether, then re-added it which resets all the ratings and everything back to zero. Also the price on Tetris has been raised from $2.99 to $4.99. The version for Need for Speed: Shift was downgraded as well. The recent update had made the version number 1.0.58 but the new version is back to 1.0.57. This could be due to the update making the game not work on Galaxy S phones.

EA Mobile could be doing some re-organizing, although that wouldn't explain the reason for the lack of availability for their games in Canada, or perhaps they are working on strictly selling their games on their own storefront like Gameloft and slowly removing their games from the Android Market one country at a time. when we find out more we will definitely post an update.

Thanks to Dave Loft for the tip!
