HandyGames have been really pushing their Android line-up of games lately with a release or update at least once a month. March seems to be no exception to the rule as they have just released Cyberlords onto the Android Market. This is a top-down isometric shoot-em-up games mixed in with RPG elements at the same time.

You'll be in command of a 4 person team in your quest to rescue the world from total... surveillance? Yes it seems the citizens of Asgard Arcology are being terrorized by corporations and it is your teams job to save them. Leave it to HandyGames to come up with another unique storyline for a game.

Features:

  • Science fiction RPG
  • Real-time combat with 4 team members
  • Tactics mode: pause the action at any time
  • 4 levels of difficulty
  • Improve your skills with biomechanical augmentations
  • Over 20 different weapons including blades, guns, grenades and mines
  • Specialise your team members in stealth, combat or hacking skills
  • Many achievements to hunt
  • Simulated persistent world

The game offers up some interesting and unique gameplay features including the 4-man team you customize and control, plenty of weapons to get, simulated persistent world and Xperia Play optimized controls which is one of the first games we've seen to include this in their description. However, this is definitely not an Xperia Play only game and you will be able to play it on most Android devices.

You can pick up this unique game from HandyGames off the Android Market in a full free version (with ads) or, should you not want the ads, you can pay $4.16 for the ad-free version. Official press release included below for reading pleasure.

HandyGames™ releases Cyberlords – Arcology for Android und JavaME!

Giebelstadt/Germany, 11th March 2011. It's the year 2173. The power of government is in decline and the world is controlled by gigantic megacorporations. Perfectly adapted touch screen controls, four difficulty modes and numerous achievements guarantee an engrossing gaming experience and tremendous replay value.

"With Gothic 3 - The Beginning and Devils & Demons we have proven our expertise in creating role-playing games for mobile platforms.", comments Philipp Nägelsbach, Game Designer at HandyGames™.
