Well it seems Kage Games has re-released their game that made headlines about a week back after the Humane Society, Alicia Silverstone and Michael Vick, among others, complained about it and it was pulled for the market. Dog Wars is back on the market but under a new name, KG Dogfighting and of course is available right now.

Added to the description of the game is this nice little gem of information for everyone from the developers:

PLEASE REMEMBER:
1. It is just A VIDEO GAME
2. Perhaps one day we will make gerbil wars or beta fish wars for people who can't understand fantasy role play games
3. Just because something is illegal in real life in certain countries, does not mean it is illegal to make a song, movie, or video game about it
4. Just go slingshot some virtual birds to kill some virtual pigs.
5. Go complain to someone who cares about Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, Weed Farmer, Smoke a Bowl (these two are listed in the top 15 of casual games on Android Market) and maybe even Sierra's Leisure Suit Larry from 1987.
6. This is listed as a HIGH MATURITY app, and does NOT violate the Terms of Use with the Google market in any way!!!

I think the developer behind the game has made his point, don't you? The game is entirely the same, as far as we can see, however the name is the only thing that has changed. Interestingly enough, yet another person is speaking up over the game even with the new name. This person is the Head of the Police Department's Officer Union in Los Angeles, Paul M. Weber. Paul is also responsible for leading the law enforcement charge against the game.

"The entire concept is repulsive and sickening, and it is absolutely the wrong message to send to our children. We once again call on Google to follow the lead of Apple and ban this game from its website and all products they sell," he said. "Doing anything short of voluntarily banning the game from its products shows that Google is willing to put profit over public safety."

It looks like things could get very interesting with so many high profile people and now the L.A. police union getting involved. The question is, how long will this remain on the market this time? Best to go grab it now if you want it. It will set you back $2.99. We would love to hear what our readers have to say about this so let us know in the comments below!
