About two weeks ago we reported on Plants vs Zombies and the fact that PopCap Games came out to say it would be made available by the end of May. We have heard it before though so imagine our surprise when we looked today on Amazon and sure enough, there it is!

Temporarily exclusive to the Amazon App Store, Plants vs Zombies is also Amazon's free game today so you will have all day yo go get it for free. After today it will be priced at $2.99. By now 99% of the world has heard of Plants vs Zombies but just in case you are one of the rare people who don't know about this game, basically you are in charge of various plants and it's your job to stop waves of zombies. Think of it like a wave defense game instead of a tower defense game.

A few notes about Plants vs Zombies:

  • Requires a Wi-Fi connection to download.
  • This app is not tablet-optimized, but will run on most Android tablet devices (some pixelation may be visible during gameplay).
  • Plants vs. Zombies will not run on the following devices:
  • --Motorola DROID (works fine on Motorola DROID 2 and some DROID X's), Devour, Flipside
  • --Samsung Transform, Intercept
  • --HTC Aria, MyTouch 3G
  • --Sony Ericsson X8
  • --Sanyo Zio
  • --Kyocera Echo
  • --LG Ally

Now that the wait is over, don't let us keep you from playing Plants vs Zombies any longer. Head over to the Amazon App Store and grab it for free today! No word on when it will land on the Android Market.
