AndEngine is a game development engine designed for Android. It has been an open source project that was started by Nicolas Gramlich who I've had the pleasure of talking to on and off for the last year or so. Well today I received a neat little email from him with some great news, Zynga Mobile has snatched him up!
So what does this mean for AndEngine now that Nicolas will be working at Zynga Mobile? Not a damn thing as he mentions in his blog post that he will continue to work and support AndEngine even while at his new job over at Zynga Mobile. This isn't the first time though Zynga has snatched up key contributors to a game engine. Recently they acquired two key contributors to another game engine called Cocos2D.
For more information you can check out Nicolas' Blog post. From all of us here at DroidGamers we wish Nicolas a fun and enjoyable time over at Zynga! Congrats!
