More information is slowly coming to light regarding Minecraft and the Xperia Play. The creator of Minecraft, Mark Persson, sat down and talked to IGN about the future of Minecraft and during the conversation he narrowed down the release time for the Xperia Play version to this fall.
Minecraft will remain an Xperia Play exclusive for a short period of time, most likely a month, before other Android devices will be blessed with it. We got to play with it at E3 2011 on the Xperia Play and even then it was pretty awesome, making use of almost all the buttons and controls the Xperia Play comes with. With the adventure update coming to Minecraft as well in version 1.8 (hopefully), we should see the inclusion of that as well in the mobile version.
As for pricing, Mark said it will be available for $6.99 which is a pretty decent price considering what you will be getting. Feel free to check out our hands-on with Minecraft at E3 2011 to see how it will look and feel. Keep in mind this was a bare-bones version.
