Glu Mobile releases Star Blitz onto Android. Gun Bros with space ships.

Glu Mobile has quietly release another game onto the Android Market called Star Blitz. Anyone who has played Gun Bros. will see a lot of familiar mechanics from that game in Star Blitz. In fact it is essentially Gun Bros with space ships for the most part.

You will be piloting your own Star Blitz Fighter in order to blast through countless enemies on your "intergalactic mission to defeat the evil Alien Xeno Cluster as they attempt to dominate the Arelon Prime". Just like with Gun Bros. you will have a lot of upgrade options but for your ship and you will also be able to use one of your real friends as your wingman in their own ship. In fact it is so close to Gun Bros in gameplay that the package name for the game is Space Bros.

If you have gotten tired of Gun Bros. but enjoy the gameplay it offers, now you have another option from Glu Mobile. This keeps the mechanics for the most part the same but wraps it all up in a space theme instead. No word yet if there will be a $500 gun available in this game like Gun Bros has. You can pick up Star Blitz off the Android Market for free and Xperia Play owners will get to enjoy using those controls your phone comes with too.
